We’ve received some repeat questions lately by parents whose children are still in college. Basically, they are worried that there isn’t enough time to get a double consolidation done to get into SAVE.
Here’s the rules:
- The loan does have to be fully disbursed.
- You don’t have to wait for the son/daughter to graduate.
- You can get the loans out of in school deferment by calling your servicer.
- You have to have at least two federal loans for this to work.
Complete a double consolidation by July 1, 2025 (see us, or our videos on how this should be done: https://www.youtube.com/c/ArkovichLaw ) and send a paper application to your final servicer asking to be placed into SAVE.
