Income Monitoring no longer a Thing for Total and Permanent Disability Discharges of Federal Student Loans

Finally, servicers are beginning to let people know that the post discharge income monitoring is no longer!  

Directly from a servicer’s mouth today:

What you need to know:

• Your annual earnings from employment will no longer be monitored upon TPD discharge approval.
• You will no longer be required to submit verification of annual earnings from employment each year during the 3-year post-discharge monitoring period.
• A new disbursement issued after your discharge approval date will no longer result in reinstatement of your obligation to repay your discharged federal student loans or completion of your discharged Teacher Education Assistance for College and Higher Education (TEACH) Grant Program service obligation, provided that the entire loan amount was approved prior to your discharge approval date.
